Detmold, 9 March, 2018. From April 23 to 27, 2018, the world's largest industrial trade fair will be held in Hanover for the 71st time. The Weidmüller Group will be in Hall 11, Stand B58, presenting a wide range of new products and solutions in the fields of automation and digitalisation, panel building and device connectivity. This year's focus will be on the networking and implementation of consistent and future-proof application solutions. "Digital and automated value-creation processes are playing an increasingly important role in conversations with our customers", explains Weidmüller's Chief Marketing and Sales Officer José Carlos Álvarez Tobar. "Weidmüller has built up a large portfolio in this area over recent years. We will also be demonstrating our new solutions, services and skills in this area at our stand in Hall 11 with two new live applications".
Establishing new business models with Industrial Analytics
Together with compressor manufacturer Boge, the company will be presenting an HST 220 high-performance compressor that uses Weidmüller's Industrial Analytics software for preventative maintenance in order to detect errors and operational anomalies. This software allows customers to detect any unwanted machine behaviour in good time, to determine the cause of and remedy any errors more quickly, to monitor and predict the product quality and to carry out predictive maintenance. The highlight of the live application at the trade fair stand is the analysis of parameters that can be adjusted directly on the machine. The analytics software from Weidmüller detects the amended framework conditions within minutes, and uses a special forecasting algorithm to predict the new changed probability of failure due to the manipulation.
At the Hannover Messe 2018, the focus for Weidmüller will be on the creation of new business models with Industrial Analytics. The stand highlight will be the high-performance Boge compressor with the Industrial Analytics solution from Weidmüller, where errors can be reported directly during ongoing operation
Platform-independent solution: the automation modular system u-mation
With the open and individually scalable automation modular system u-motion, Weidmüller is pursuing its goal of driving forward platform-independent digital transformation. The connection to cloud systems is just as feasible as the possibilities of real-time communication and data analysis. With the u-mation modules, Weidmüller is providing a comprehensive toolbox for digitalisation and Industry 4.0, which can be adapted for a range of different applications. This means that advanced technologies can be quickly implemented and reliably mastered. At the core of u-mation is u-control, an IoT controller with integrated, web-based engineering tool u-create. As an interface between u-control and the field level, the modular I/O system u-remote works with fieldbus couplers for the most common bus and communication systems, and with safety modules for solutions without expensive safety controls. The multitouch panels u-view provide web-technology-based visualisation.

Communicative components: The foundation for consistent networking
Direct communication between machines as well as between machines and IT systems is a fundamental prerequisite for exploiting the potential of Industry 4.0. This is based on communication-enabled components that record product and status-oriented data as well as internal machine measured values and energy parameters. Once fed into the cloud, this data can be evaluated and the resulting conclusions made available to all relevant network participants. Weidmüller will be presenting the communicative power supply PROtop for the very first time at the Hannover Messe. Retrofitting this new solution will make it possible to expand the existing power supply with a communication module, thereby easily creating an interface for transferring process data to the higher-level control system. This lays the foundation for process optimisation via condition monitoring and remote control capability. In this context, another key contribution is made by the communicative signal converter ACT20C, as well as the latest generation of energy meters, which give a quick overview of the state of the electrical energy in the production facility. This applies with regard to both efficient utilisation as well as network quality, stability and availability.

Automated panel building is the future – holistic support for digital and automated value-creation processes
Engineering processes need to become even faster, more precise and more economical. This requires the appropriate service and engineering tools to provide optimum support for the complex planning process. With the Weidmüller Configurator (WMC), Weidmüller has a powerful software solution that speeds up the selection, configuration and ordering of products and solutions. Following configuration of the terminal blocks or assembled housing, the Configure to Order tool provides a quick automated service and guaranteed delivery from four days after ordering, based on your specific requirements. The digital models are transferred directly to our automated terminal rail assembly, without any intermediate manual steps. Weidmüller will be demonstrating the networking of automation and digitalisation at its trade fair stand by means of a live application focusing on the example of intra-logistics. In concrete terms, the application will take the form of an automated assembly machine with a conveyor belt, which uses control cabinet components from the Klippon Connect range, consistent connection solutions from the control cabinet through to the field, the automation modular system u-motion and the FieldPower range for function-oriented, localised and modular automation solutions.

In Hall 11, Stand B58 at the Hannover Messe, Weidmüller will be presenting forward-looking solutions in areas such as contactless power transmission and modular and hybrid connectors for powerful and space-saving connections from the printed circuit board in the device right through to the machine. Visitors will get the chance to experience for themselves the added value created by application-oriented connection technologies and sophisticated service provisions for the challenging planning and installation processes of the future. These include new concepts and innovative products for flexible yet consistent connection solutions from IP20 to IP6x.
